A VILLAGE post office is set for temporary closure whilst a ‘big refurbishment’ takes place.
The Kelvedon Post Office will be closed for extensive building work at the premises at 17 High Street.
The post office company has said a new postmaster is to undertake "big refurbishment work of the store".
The branch will temporarily close on Wednesday, April 19, at 5.30pm.
The work will take approximately four weeks, with the branch due to re-open on Friday 12 May at 9am.
In the time during the closure, alternative branches will include the Coggeshall Post Office, McColls in Church Street and Tiptree Post Office, McColls, in Church Road.
The Coggeshall site is open from 6am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday and 7am to 10pm on Sunday.
In Tiptree, the post office is open from 6am to 7pm on Monday to Saturday and 7am to 7pm on Sunday.
Wendy Hamilton, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the work.
“The safety of our customers is of paramount, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it will be necessary for the service to close temporarily.”
