A PORTRAIT artist is set to lead a four-week portraits workshop at Dunmow Art Group.

The workshops run by Fabienne Hanley will focus on different methods of sketching and painting realistic, live portraiture.

First, Fabienne will look at the realisation of different parts of a face according to expression and pose.

This will lead to the drawing and painting of a whole face concentrating on representing likeness with the model.

An artist and former French teacher – originally from Dijon, France – Fabienne receives commissions for her portraits.

Her portrait classes will use sketching in pencil, watercolours and oils.

As well as offering workshops for members and non-members, Dunmow Art Group runs a programme of talks and demonstrations and holds an annual exhibition, being held this year on April 22 and 23.

Fabienne Hanley will be starting her two-hour workshops will start on Monday, February 6, at 1pm at the Talberd Room in the Foakes Hall, Great Dunmow.

The cost is £5 per session for non-members and free for members of Dunmow Art Group.

Those interested in coming along are asked to bring their own materials.
