A MAN was arrested after fleeing the scene following a search in his car.
Essex Police officers were patrolling Witham last night (Thursday, January 26) when they were alerted to a car in a car park.
As they approached the car, a man the officers recognised got out the back and ran off.
When the car was searched, police say a number of bags of cannabis, cash and a bag of what was suspected to be class A drugs were found.
The man was later arrested at his home address on suspicion of drug dealing and taken into custody.
He was later released on bail to return to the police station at a later date whilst enquiries continue.
