BRAINTREE Village retail centre is set to bring a little love to shoppers this month, as it presents a week-long event to mark Valentine’s Day.

The ten-day 'urban art takeover' will feature modern art installations and high impact visuals to celebrate love in all its forms.

Shoppers visiting Braintree Village will be greeted by a 5mx5m heart installation in the entrance arch, setting the tone of the playful campaign.

Further heart-shaped inflatables will be dotted around the outlet, alongside colourful vinyls of artist illustrations, providing not-to-be-missed photo opportunities.

Central to the retail outlet’s love campaign will be its ‘Art House’ – a physical pop-up art space in the centre of the shopping village.

Between Friday, February 10 and Sunday, February 19, visitors will have the opportunity to visit the ‘Art House’, where artists and poets will be hosting exclusive, free workshops.

The workshops are set to include drop-in art sessions, Valentine’s Day card creation, and a ceramics painting class, alongside many more creative tutorials for all ages.

A full workshop timetable and guide to booking an exclusive slot will be released ahead of the launch.

The bold art project, in conjunction with Moniker Culture and named the ‘Heart of the Village’, will work with a number of leading female creatives, including British commercial artist and illustrator Rachael Presky and illustrator Inma Hortas, from Madrid.

Braintree Village boss Josef O’Sullivan said: “We are delighted to be bringing a vibrant and bold art installation to Braintree Village in celebration of Valentine's Day and all things love.

“It is wonderful to be launching a unique exhibition in Essex, working alongside both the Moniker Culture and the incredible mix of talented artists and poets, and we can’t wait for our guests to get involved in the array of workshops planned for the ten days.”
