A DRIVER involved in a two-vehicle collision fled from the scene, sparking a police investigation, whilst the other was sent to hospital.

Officers are investigating the incident which took place on Maldon Road in Hatfield Peverel on Sunday, January 22.

Police were called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles just after 6.30pm.

Occupants of one vehicle were supported by passing off-duty paramedics and advised to attend hospital for treatment.

The occupants of the other vehicle, including the driver, make off from the scene just after the collision occurred.

A spokesman for the police said: “This incident occurred in Maldon Road at the junction with Ulting Road in Hatfield Peverel.

“We are asking those who live, work or travel in this area and have dashcam or CCTV to review any footage and contact us.

"In particular, we are looking for sightings of a grey Honda Civic 04 plate vehicle between 6pm and 6.35pm.

“We believe the vehicle may have used the A12 around Hatfield Peverel or been in the Witham area in the time leading up to this incident.”
