A CARE service has been rated good by watchdogs in its first inspection.

Support Hands Domiciliary Care was given the rating by the Care Quality Commission after an inspection of the service.

Support Hands provides personal care to people in their homes.

At the time of the inspection there were just two people using the service.

During the visit, inspectors spoke with the director who is also the registered manager.

They also reviewed a range of records, which included two people's support plans and one person's medication records.

The report rated the service’s safety, effectiveness, care and responsiveness as good.

It said people are well treated and supported.

The report said: “People were supported by staff who had got to know them well, with people and their relatives telling us they were treated with respect.

“People's support plans contained information such as, 'to maintain privacy and dignity, make sure the door is closed and the curtains are drawn'.”

It also said personalised care was planned to “ensure people have choice and control and to meet their needs and preferences”.
