A NEW initiative to help children learn to read and write is coming to mid Essex.

Mum Laura Maskell is bringing Phonics with Robot Reg classes to Maldon, Tiptree, Silver End and the Dengie.

The classes are specifically designed to get pre-schoolers and toddlers interested in early reading and writing.

Laura discovered Phonics with Robot Reg classes when her daughter was just a year old and ended up taking her to them for nearly four years.

When her daughter started school in September, she realised her local franchise was available and jumped at the chance to join the team and bring the classes to Maldon and the surrounding areas.

Phonics with Robot Reg classes were launched in 2016 by sisters Charlie Day and Alex Burnside and offer classes across the UK.

Suitable for ages one to five, the classes introduce a different letter sound each week.

They also work on motor skills which are essential for reading and writing, as well as oral blending and segmenting, all whilst opening children up to a world of literacy.

Children won’t even realise they are learning as the classes are action-packed, fun and high energy.

Laura said: “After taking Agatha to various classes in the beginning, I think Phonics with Robot Reg classes are a brilliant way to introduce letters and sounds to children and help prepare them for school in a fun and energetic way.

“I am so excited to be bringing these classes to the area and can’t wait to get started.”

The classes are starting in January.
