Braintree’s MP has thrown his support behind a housing association due to its work to support the Braintree community.

James Cleverly visited the headquarters of Eastlight Community Homes – Eastlight House.

The visit included a tour of Eastlight’s Community Common Room - a large office space where more than 20 agencies and charities work together to make a difference for its customers and communities

He also met and offered support to the All In Community Team for Braintree, who aim to create a solution to mental health problems affecting residents in the town.

As well as discussing ongoing casework raised by residents in his constituency, Mr Cleverly learnt about Eastlight’s forthcoming Resident Academy and backed efforts to support more residents to get involved in shaping Eastlight and other local organisations.

Mr Cleverly said: “It was a pleasure to visit Eastlight and to gain an insight into the steps they are taking to support customers and make a difference in Braintree.

“I was impressed by the innovative work being done by the All In team for Braintree to support residents affected by mental health issues, and they have my support.”
