A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of burglary alongside a number of other offences following an incident this morning.

Officers were called to Rowan Way in Witham just before 3am this morning, October 6, following reports a car had been taken during a burglary.

Checks being completed while en route also identified there may be another potential victim at a different location.

Shortly after the initial 999 call, officers arrived at the scene and confirmed a burglary had taken place.

Further enquires revealed there had been another burglary in Laburnum Way where a car was stolen about the same time.

Quick actions by officers at the scene, along with support from other departments, air support and the Met Police, resulted in one of the stolen vehicles being stopped less than an hour after it had been stolen.

Police were able to identify the car was later in the Ongar area and officers from the roads policing team tracked it down and stopped it at about 3.45am.

A teenager was arrested.

The 17 year-old, from High Wycombe, is currently in custody being questioned on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
