A CANCER charity’s walk through nature is coming back as it continues to raise vital funds to fight the illness.

Helen Rollason is bringing back its Autumn Rural Ramble at the Forgotten Gardens of Easton Lodge.

Situated a few minutes outside of Great Dunmow, the event is described as a “unique opportunity to enjoy a beautiful walk around the surrounding scenic countryside and the Forgotten Gardens of Easton Lodge”.

The gardens, which are entirely maintained by volunteers, comprise of a walled kitchen garden dating back to the 18th Century, a wild flower area for bees, formal gardens and colourful displays of flowers.

Visitors can choose from four circular walks of one, four, six or ten-mile routes. There is also a new ten-mile trail run.

All tickets also include a cream tea after the walk.

Charity spokesman Zoe Jay said: “We are really looking forward to returning to the Forgotten Gardens of Easton Lodge.

“It will be wonderful to see families, groups of friends, children and dogs back again, and with the added bonus of our new ten-mile trail run, we hope to attract a new audience to this biannual event.

“Running and walking have so many benefits including improved sleep, reduced stress and anxiety, lifting your mood and boosting your energy.

“Overall, it has been proven to improve your mental health, plus taking part and getting sponsored in aid of the charity really gives you that feel-good factor.

“We couldn’t organise such an amazing event without the help of our great team of volunteers. Also, a special thank you to Tiptree’s Wilkin and Sons for being our headline sponsor for the event.

“We’re keeping our fingers crossed for clear skies and warm autumnal weather.”

The event is on Saturday, October 8. For more information or tickets, visit helenrollason.org.uk.
