A MOTHER of 15 ducklings disappeared overnight and left her babies without a carer.
The group of orphaned ducklings have now found a new foster dad in golden Labrador, Fred.
The ducklings mother left them at Mountfitchet Castle in Stansted.
This is the second time that Fred has taken on the role of a father after adopting nine orphaned ducklings when he was ten years old in 2018.

Fred is the resident dog at Mountfitchet Castle and can be seen sat happily with the ducklings and letting them sit on his back.
Fred’s owner, Jeremy Goldsmith, said: "Over the 15 years of owning him Fred has spent a lot of time at the Castle with the animals and it has become second nature to him being amongst the various rescued animals."
The ducklings will stay with Fred at the castle until they are old enough to survive on their own.
