BRAINTREE'S MP has thanked hard-working hospital staff after his wife underwent a successful operation.
James Cleverly sent his thanks to the onocology and surgical teams at Guy’s Cancer Centre in London.
It comes after wife Susie underwent a successful operation.
Mrs Cleverly was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of last year.
Since his wife's diagnosis, the 52-year-old MP has been keeping his consituents updated on her battle.
The news has so far been positive with previous updates that Mrs Cleverly has been responding well to treatment.
Now she had undergone a successful operation which the MP, who serves as Minister of State of the United Kingdom for Europe and North America, says is a "big milestone".
In a tweet, Mr Cleverly said: "Huge thank you to the oncology and surgical teams at Guys Hospital.
"Susie has had her operation and it went well.
"Still some treatment left to go but this is a big milestone passed.
"Huge thank you for all the kind messages."
