A PRIMARY SCHOOL is over the moon after a 'good' rating following a watchdog inspection.

Rayne Primary and Nursery School was inspected by Ofsted over a two-day visit in May.

The education watchdog found “well planned, ambitious programmes of work enable children to learn well”.

It was rated good in all categories - for the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision.

The report said: “The trust is providing effective support for the school. It ensures that leaders are held to account so that their actions contribute effectively to school improvement. All staff are proud to work at the school and are well supported.

"Leaders prioritise pupils’ personal development and effectively supports pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities.”

Safeguarding was also recognised as effective throughout the school.

CEO of the Attain Academy Partnership, which includes Rayne Primary School, Susannah Edom-Baker, said: "The Covid-19 pandemic has caused significant disruption to every school community.

“The staff team, led by acting head of school Miss Sarah Fletcher, have managed these challenges extremely well and ensured that their plans for improvement have remained on track.

“We are all thrilled to have Ofsted recognise the great work which takes place here every day by saying that Rayne is a good school.

"I am constantly impressed by how hard our staff and pupils work and it is fantastic to see the Ofsted inspectors report so positively on everything that we do here.

"I am very proud of every member of this school community and am looking forward to building on this foundation for the future."
