FORMER Braintree Town boss Jamie Day has been appointed as Swindon Town's new assistant coach.
Day, who worked as Iron manager in the 2015-16 season after taking over from Danny Cowley, will work alongside head coach Scott Lindsey, who took charge earlier this week.
Day told the Swindon website: “I’m really looking forward to the job ahead and working with Scott, who has already done great things here at the football club.
“We came up against each other during our playing days and we’ve always had a mutual respect for each other and stayed in touch.
"He wants to play the game in the right way and I’m really excited with his plans and where he wants to take the club.”

Day took charge at Braintree in the summer of 2016.
He presided over 12 first-team games at the start of the Vanarama National League season but departed in the September of that season.
Day has also been first-team coach at Gillingham in 2017 and was assistant manager at Barrow, in 2018.
He became head coach of the Bangladesh national team in May 2018, guiding them to their best-ever performance in the 2018 Asian Games after they reached the Round of 16 for the first time in their history.
Swindon head coach Lindsey told the club's website: “I’m delighted to have Jamie onboard.
“He’s a fantastic coach and a man I trust greatly to help me drive this side forward.
“Importantly, he understands the ethos and DNA of the football club as well as the direction we want to go, and his experience coaching at international level will be a huge asset.”
