A VINTAGE day out is coming to the area for lovers of bygone eras.

The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is hosting the popular event at Cressing Temple Barns, near Braintree.

The event is back for a day of live entertainment, with hundreds of classic vehicles, food, music, jive dancing, shopping and more.

Visitors can browse the huge range ofstalls showcasingvintage fashion, retro second-hand items, a beauty parlour, jewellery, pre-loved furniture, antiques and collectables.

Rock’n’roll band Kingsmen will be performing as well as LJ’s Jive School and singing from the Harmonettes.

A hog roast, cocktails and Prosecco from The Tipsy Grey will be available, along with other food and drink, and ice creams from Molly Moos Ices.

Charity spokesman Karen Mitchell said: “Sustainable shopping and its environmental impact are currently a hot topic so we are pleased to be doing our bit by endorsing this practice.

“Our event has been described as a hidden gem in the nationwide UK vintage event calendar with people attending from across the country.

“We’re a local charity serving our local community, and every penny raised at this event will go towards ensuring we continue to provide the best possible cancer care now and in the future.”

The charity supports people whose lives have been affected by cancer in Essex.

Helen Rollason MBE was a BBC broadcaster who believed that one of the most important gifts that a sick person can receive is a good quality of life.

The event is sponsored by Sterling Insurance of Bishop’s Stortford.

The vintage day out is on Saturday, July 10 at Cressing Temple Barns, Braintree, from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
