A GROUP of villagers came together for an overdue reunion, with some meeting again for the first time in decades.

Amanda Larkin created a Facebook group in October 2019 to try and find her peers and their siblings.

It turned into a big Felsted reunion for over-50s who are from the village.

Amanda said: “I had left Felsted myself when I was 12 years old, 55 years ago, and most of my research was based on my childhood memories of this lovely village.

“A date was set for a reunion for June 2020 then postponed to June 2021, which too resulted in the cancellation and the refunding of money.”

Last weekend, the event finally happened, with approximately 150 members coming along, some of whom hadn't met for more than 50 years.

The group came to the Swan Pub in Rayne, where the gardens were buzzing with laughter and chat.

Amanda added: “We all had a fantastic afternoon  - so much so we met up again on Sunday in the Chequers Pub in Felsted.

“In total, we have about 350 names but were not able to contact everyone, so if you are one of those, feel free to join us for next year's reunion which will be held in Felsted in June.”
