SPECIAL benches have been installed to honour the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
Three new benches have been installed to mark 70 years since the Queen’s accession to the throne, in Weaver’s Park in Braintree, Halstead Public Gardens and Witham Town Park.
A floral display of summer bedding in red, white and blue has also been created in the three locations to mark the jubilee.
Hanging baskets in Braintree town centre and outside Causeway House in Braintree have also been refreshed and replanted in a mix of purple and platinum to complement the celebrations happening across the district.
The weekend marked Queen Elizabeth's 70th anniversary with a host of events taking place within the community, including street parties and big lunches, jubilee beacon lighting ceremonies, and a family trail across Braintree, Halstead, and Witham.
Braintree Council communities boss Frankie Ricci said: “The platinum jubilee is a momentous occasion for the nation and residents across our district.
“These commemorative benches will add a lasting memorable touch in our district to remember the jubilee for years to come.”
