A CRICKETING legend is visiting budding batters and bowlers at a school.
Sir Alastair Cook will visit Gosfield School on March 22.
The former England captain is an ambassador to Gosfield School’s sporting partner Grays International, and will be visiting the school as part of the Grays tree legacy programme.
The initiative began in 2020, when Sir Alastair visited the home of the brand to plant 33 willow trees, one for each of his test centuries.

He said: “It’s amazing to be involved with the launch of this campaign. It’s growing willow for a game I’ve always played, for a brand I’ve always used.
“As we become more aware of the need to look after the planet, sustainability initiatives like this one are going to be crucial.”
Sir Alistair will be spending time with members of Gosfield School Cricket Academy and will take the opportunity to plant a Gosfield willow.
