A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm 'with intent to cause fear of violence'.
The man has been arrested following an incident involving armed officers in Braintree.
Essex Police were called at 7.55am today (Friday, February 25) after receiving reports of a man in possession of what was believed to be a firearm.
The report said the man was driving down Bovingdon Road in Braintree.
Witnesses then reported this morning seeing armed police and both marked and unmarked cars at the junction between Coldnailhurst Avenue and Arnham Grove.

Now Essex Police has said a man, 32, has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called just before 7.55am following a report that a man driving a vehicle in Bovingdon Road, Braintree, was in possession of what was believed to be a firearm.
"Officers have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
"He remains in custody."
