There are many animals at shelters waiting to find there forever home.

Here are some of the animals at Danaher Animal Shelter, Wethersfield, that might be waiting for you, and what the shelter has said about each one.

Braintree and Witham Times:

This smiley staffie is Judy! She came into our care after being found as a stray, we rehomed her this year but she was returned to us through no fault of her own, so the staff here who absolutely love little Judy are desperate for her to find her happy ending once again!

Judy is typical of her breed, a sweet natured dog, and despite her senior age, she is full of energy, loves to play and get out and about on walks! She has some arthritis in her legs, but this doesn't stop her getting around the home except she can't quite manage the stairs. We have Judy on a joint supplement here and recommend it is continued in her new home to keep her comfortable.

Around the home Judy is house trained, loves to snuggle up with you on a comfy sofa, and can be left for a few hours without any worries. She is good natured with everyone she meets and has had some contact with young children. Judy also knows sit, paw and lay down, and she needs some further training with travelling in a car.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Please say hello to this cute and very much loved up couple Storm and Flo, they have arrived in our care after their previous owner was no longer able to provide them with the love and attention they need so has therefore asked for our help in finding them their forever home.

Flo, although small in size is very much the boss of this super sweet pair and Storm is more than happy to take a seat back and allow Flo to inform him on exactly how she would like things to pan out on a daily basis. Basically he agrees with whatever it is she is telling him and gives her plentiful kisses whilst telling her how much she is adored by him. Because Flo can be a little 'temperamental' at times we are looking for an adult only home for her or a family with older children only. If you would like for this lovable pair to come and join your family please fill out and submit an interest form for them.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Our trio of beautiful budgerigars Olive, Sapphire and Spartacus are ready to find their next abode, they are looking for an existing aviary with like sized and smaller birds in it so they can make some new friends and have room enough to spread their wings. If you have an aviary with room enough for our trio please fill in and submit and interest form for Olive, Sapphire and Spartacus and they'll be over the moon at the prospect of finding their forever home.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Marvellous Moon has been with us for a short while after being picked up as a stray. This means we do not know much about his past but what we do know is what a wonderful boy he is.

Moon is a laid back and relaxed character and tends to take things in his stride. He is quiet on his walks and enjoys engaging with his environment whilst trotting along next to his handler.

He walks lovely on the lead and passes other dogs politely that he sees on his travels.

Moon would prefer to be the only dog living in the home as he prefers not to engage with other dogs heavily and prefers a polite 'hello' and to be on his way. He cannot live with cats as he tends to want to chase these when he sees them.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Please say hello to these handsome little lads Tom and Jerry, they have arrived in our care after their previous owner could no longer give them the care and attention they require and has therefore asked our help in finding them their forever home.

Both these lads are fairly nervous of being handled at the moment (especially Jerry) so they will need an understanding home where they will be given time and patience to allow them to become more confident and willing to accept a cuddle and fuss. Once tamed these boys will be the best little family members who will really benefit with plentiful human interaction to keep their minds occupied and prevent them from becoming bored. If you feel you would like these two cheeky characters to join your family please submit an interest form for them.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Please say hello to our beautiful pair of cockatiel’s Ron and Rosie, they have arrived in our care after their previous owner was no longer able to provide them with the care and attention they need so has therefore asked for our help in finding them their new abode.

Ron and Rosie are looking for a pre-existing spacious aviary where they'll have room to spread their wings and make some new friends with like sized and smaller birds. Rosie isn't a strong flyer at the moment so we ask that the aviary has the wire panels stretching right from ground level or close to ground level enabling her to climb her way up to the top where she will have no problem hopping across or flying the short distances from perch to perch. If you have room in your aviary for this loved up couple please fill out and submit an interest form for them.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Please say hello to Harmony, she has arrived in our care after being found abandoned and left to fend for herself. Harmony is looking for a spacious aviary to call home with other like sized and smaller birds in so she can make lots of new friends. Harmony tries her hardest to sing beautifully (but sounds a little tone deaf to us!

No doubt though, other cockateils will appreciate her serenade). If you have an exsisting aviary and have room for a hen cockateil please submit an interest form for her. There is also the possibility she could join our other cockateil pair Ron and Rosie in their search for a forever home too.I'm sure Ron will be overwhelmed at the possibility of finding his forever home with not one girlfriend but two!

Braintree and Witham Times:

Please say hello to our beautiful girl Boadicea. She arrived in our care after her previous owner got overrun with piggy’s and could no longer provide them with the care and attention they needed. Boadicea has had very little handling (if any) and is very nervous of people right now, she is very skittish and panicked when handled so we are therefore looking for a home for her with either no children or older children only.

She will need time, patience and understanding to allow her to gain in confidence and start to relax a little when you're near. The turn-around will be extremely heart-warming and rewarding once she realises that us humans aren't actually that scary after all, and she can at long last enjoy us. If you would like to offer Boadicea her forever home please submit a application form on the website www.danaheranimalhome.org.uk.

Braintree and Witham Times:

We would like to introduce you all to our pair of magnificent angora rabbits Snowball and Sassy. These two absolutely splendid rabbits have arrived in our care after unfortunately losing their previous owner who had obviously done a great job with them as they are extremely friendly and crave human interaction.

These bunnies have been used to a lavish lifestyle with plentiful spoiling and pampering so are looking for a five star home where the pampering can commence some more. As you can see by their photos Snowball and Sassy both have very impressive coats that will need daily grooming to make sure the condition of their fur is kept in pristine condition, this won't be difficult at all to maintain as they are both very used to being groomed and will sit or lay still enjoying the fuss whilst you work on their luscious locks.

Both bunnies love attention and Snowball especially gets very excited when he sees you approach and will always come hopping over to you just as an excited puppy would. He demands a fuss and you willingly oblige. If you feel you have the time to give these stunning bunnies the attention they require and you have room in your home (the outdoor lifestyle isn't for this pair!) then please submit an interest form for them. We just know that the family who end up adopting these two will never look back. These two have abundant love to share with you and any family will be extremely lucky to have these to move in.

Braintree and Witham Times:

We would love to introduce you all to this beautiful girl Bella. Bella has settled in well since arriving in our care. Bella can be a little shy to start off will and just needs a slow approach, once she has settled into a new home environment. This will aid her in helping her confidence grow. Bella does enjoy a fuss and once she knows you she will even start to roll on her side and purr away. This little girl really is a sweetheart, so if you can offer her the perfect home she needs then please fill in an application form.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Say hello to our Misty, since arriving with us she has shown us that she is a confident little girl who loves lots of attention and a fuss and will purr a lot, but if she has had enough she will let you know. Misty enjoys being around you and also enjoys time to herself, as she likes to go and explore anything that is new to her. Misty has a big character and will be a great addition to your family. If you have space for our beautiful girl then please fill in an application form.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Say hello to this beautiful girl Smokey, she has found life settling into the cattery a little hard, but every day she has been in our care we have seen her starting to relax more and more. Now that Smokey has got to know her handlers she has now been enjoying a fuss from them and even rolled over and exposed her belly. Smokey is looking for a quiet home which will help her to adjust to her new home. If you can offer her the perfect home then please fill in an application form.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Say hello to our beautiful smudge, she arrived in our care after being found abandoned along with her 5 beautiful kittens. Now that smudge has finished her mother duties its now time for her to turn her attention to finding a forever home. Smudge is a very sweet girl, loves a fuss, exploring and loves her food. Smudge would like to be the only pet in the house as she likes her own space and have all the attention on her. If you can offer this sweetheart a loving home then please fill in an application form.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Say hello to Cookie and Marshall. They came into our care for their own safety due to regular visits from foxes. Both of them are quite a confident pair but regular handling will benefit them as it'll help them grown in confidence even more. They're a close bonded pair so are looking for a home together. As soon as you go into their enclosure they hop over straight away to see what you're doing. If you feel as though you could offer this sweet pair the perfect home then please fill out an interest form or contact reception.

Braintree and Witham Times:

Please say hello to our gentle little Bonnie, she is just the sweetest little girl! She has arrived in our care after her previous owner could no longer provide her with the care and attention she requires so has therefore asked for our help in finding her a new family and forever home. Bonnie is a confident bun and likes snuggles so should settle in to her next home fairly quickly, she is also hoping to find love in her new home too in the form of a handsome Husbun. If you would like to invite little Bonnie to join your family please submit an interest form for her.
