MORE than 250 Covid cases were recorded in the Braintree district in the last 24 hours.
The number of cases rose by 251 to take the total in the district since the start of the pandemic to 32,859.
There were no deaths in the past week.
Official figures show 423 people have died from Covid in the area.
The rate of infection is 21,464 cases per 100,000 people, compared to the England average of 22,256.
That is up from 20,203 cases per 100,000 seven days ago when there were 336 new cases in 24 hours in Braintree.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 129,544 to 14,862,138.
The latest figures show 110,899 people in the district had received both jabs by January 11 – 82 per cent of those aged 12 and over.
