A GROUP of big-hearted teenagers have thanked key workers at a care home.

Four students from Maltings Academy, in Witham, delivered a hamper containing treats such as hot chocolate, tea and coffee to St George’s nursing home.

The four are from Year 11 and make up the student leadership team

Brandon Whyton, Ronnie Jackson, Esha Ludhor and Kymberly Wilson all wanted to show their appreciation to key workers during the pandemic.

Ronnie said: “It was lovely to visit the staff and provide them with a small token of appreciation for their hard work over the last two years. In the future, we would love to be able to do more.”

Home manager Derek Forteath added: “A big thank you to all involved for the kind donation delivered to St George’s. It was a very kind thought and will be greatly appreciated.”

School head of personal development Paul Ambrose said: "We are proud of our students and student leadership team and this is just an example of their nature, thinking about others and a caring side they display daily."
