"We are devastated by this news and our hearts go out to the student's family and friends. Clearly this is an incredibly difficult time and this week we will have staff on hand to provide further support as required.

"Over the coming weeks my main priority will be offering support to the family in any way I can, taking care of all our students and staff throughout this period."

He directed parents with children who need support online and encouraged them to make use of the service.
