DRIVERS can expect delays as a town centre road prepares for closure.
Cressing Road in Braintree is set to close this month as work is undertaken by Gigaclear.
The broadband company will shut the road for one week while it conducts work to lay ducts for broadband connections.
The road is expected to close on October 25 and will shut from its junction Coggeshall Road.
A spokesman for Essex Highways said: "The closure is scheduled to commence on October 25 for seven days.
"The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Gigaclear Limited.
"Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
During the closure, a temporary diversion route will be in place.
Traffic will be diverted down Coggeshall Road to the roundabouts and then down the A120 toward the Galleys Corner roundabout.
Drivers will then be able to head up Cressing Road or vice versa.
