A POPULAR town coffee shop is encouraging its customers to get together and create memories over a cup of coffee in a bid to celebrate an international event.

Braintree-based cafe TOAST opened on High Street in February 2020 and has also seen branches open in Chelmsford and Walthamstow.

It is a celebration of all things toast with numerous spreads on offer as well as plenty of coffee.

Now the business is celebrating International Coffee Day and is inviting customers to take a moment to come together and raise a cup in unison to celebrate coffee.

It is encouraging customers to make memories whether that’s catching up with a friend, having a family lunch date or just taking time for oneself.

October 1 is the date for the internationally recognized day and TOAST is inviting customers to stop and sample their coffee with through a 50 per cent off promotion on all its coffee based drinks, in addition to toasting the occasion.

Co-founder Rob Ely said: “Coffee is a way through which so much human interaction and memories are made.

“Everyone thinks it’s just a drink but it’s more than that.

“Coffee dates, catching up with friends, that lunch out of the office. Coffee makes connections.

“And that’s what TOAST is about. It’s about people coming together over a coffee and making connections, and ultimately making memories.”

The chain of independent coffee shops was founded by three friends- Robert, Daniel, and Louis.- with a passion and a mission to break the cookie cutter mould of a high street coffee chain.

Their menu features award-winning coffee, toasties and shakes, created fresh in-house each day by experienced baristas.

They also use locally sourced high-quality ingredients.
