ONE part of the district still has a high Covid infection rate as cases begin to drop around Braintree, figures reveal. 

A map, compiled using Government data, shows the infection rate and number of cases in each part of the borough.

The figures, from the week to July 30, Silver End and Stisted has an infection rate of above 328.6 cases per 100,000 people.

A total of 34 new cases have been recorded in the area in the last seven days.

However cases are decreasing across the district. 

In the past seven days 316 cases have been recorded and the average infection rate stands at 207.1 per 100,000 people.
