A PUB is set to relaunch its garden area following a more than £40,000 refurbishment.

The Hare and Hounds, in High Garrett, has been given a new look after its owners decided it was time for a makeover.

Contractors were hired to completely pave the beer garden, with new look heaters, fencing, covered seating, a stage area and a neon sign which is still on the way.

This has been joined by a new food and drink menu along with shisha pipes which will be introduced in the future.

The move to pave the garden was prompted by the influx of customers at the pub as lockdown eased with the old “shabby “ grass area turning to mud.

Work took just eight days with the new garden finished on Friday, July 30.

But now the pub is set to hold a relaunch event in the garden to mark its reopening.

The event will take place this Saturday with singer Aaron James taking to the new stage starting at 6pm.

Owner Michael Campbell, 27, who took over the business four years ago, said: “None of this could have been done without the huge help from some of the locals, team, friends and family.

“SM Contracting did such as fantastic job. They completed the entire patio really quickly and to such a high standard. Sean was absolutely amazing and nothing was too much.

“An extra special thanks has to go to Sam, one of our waitresses here. She worked so hard to help get it finished in time and is absolute asset to the team.

“We are so happy with the whole transformation. Lots of hard work but it’s paid off. We have an amazing beer garden.

"We can’t wait for the relaunch on Saturday, with Live Music from 6pm."
