BRAINTREE Council is supporting a national campaign in a bid to keep the country tidy.
The council is backing Keep Britain Tidy’s Love Park’s Week campaign.
Several banners and posters are on display in Halstead Public Gardens, Witham Town Park and Weavers Park to encourage visitors to enjoy the great outdoors.
Around nine in ten people surveyed by Natural England last year agreed that natural spaces are good for mental health and wellbeing and more than 40 per cent noticed that they have been more important since the pandemic began.

Councillor Wendy Schmitt said: “We know our beloved parks have played a huge role in supporting residents during the pandemic – and still do.
“That’s why we’re asking everyone to do their bit to help keep these areas clean and tidy by picking up after their dog and binning their litter responsibly.
“There is simply no excuse to leave rubbish behind and we can issue fines of up to £150 to those caught littering.”
