Two people had to be freed after a crash involving two cars.
Fire crews were called to Station Road in Little Dunmow after the incident this afternoon at about 1.30pm.
Firefighters from Great Dunmow and Braintree attended the scene.
They used specialist cutting equipment to release two casualties trapped in the vehicles.
The casualties were released by 2.35pm and left in the care of the ambulance service.
