No further cases of the Indian variant of Covid have been recorded in Braintree, figures reveal.
Figures published by Public Health England show Braintree had not recorded any cases of the Delta variant by June 2.
That makes it one of just a few dozen areas in the country yet to record a case of the VOC-21APR-02 mutation.
The infection rate remains low across the district at 5.2 per 100,000 people and eight eases recorded in the last seven days.

This comes as half of people in Braintree are now fully vaccinated against Covid.
NHS data shows 59,867 people had received both jabs by May 30 – 49 per cent of those aged 16 and over.
Of those to have received both jabs, 57,031 were aged 30 and over – 56 per cent of the age group.
It means 2,836 people aged between 16 to 29 have received both doses.
