FITNESS fanatics have launched a new class aimed at at parents ... and babies.

Green Pilates and Movement Studio, in Braintree, introduced Buggy Beat to help parents get outdoors after lockdown.

The outdoor class, aimed at parents and carers of children up to the age of five, is based at Great Notley Playing Fields.

Claudine Bone, from the team, said some new mums found lockdown “extremely challenging”.

She said: “It’s a great way to get fit or fitter, meet other new mums, which has been extremely challenging for lockdown babies, socialise for both parent and baby, and get outdoors.

“The most fantastic thing is that you don’t need to find childcare – baby and buggy come with you.

“It’s for all abilities and it’s a class which everyone will be able to do, with lots of layering of the exercises.

“We walk at tempo with the buggy and then we up our pace again but only for a tad!

“For the babies this is the best part because they seem to love going faster and faster – the mums who are pushing, maybe not so much.”

Classes take place every Tuesday at 9.30am and the first class is free.

After that it is £7 or £5.50 for members.
