All but one are of Braintree has recorded nearly zero Covid cases in the last week, figures reveal.

According to the Government's latest hotspots map, one part of the district recorded three or more cases in the week to April 4.

The rest of the borough has recorded less than three, meaning the virus is classed as "suppressed" in these areas.

They are not recorded on the hotspots map any longer.

The only areas which saw four cases was Witham Town.

The average infection rate for the whole of the district continues to fall and currently stands at 9.8 per 100,000 people.

Two-thirds of adults have now received their first dose of a Covid jab in Braintree.

The latest available data from the NHS, which only takes into consideration jabs given out up until April 4, shows 78,231 people have had a vaccine.

That equates to 63 per cent of those aged 16 and over.
