CARERS are urging well-wishers to send 102 birthday cards to help a pensioner celebrate her 102nd birthday.
Hettie Wilson turns 102 on April 8 and the team at Croft House care home, in Dunmow, want to help her celebrate.
Staff have arranged for Hettie and other residents to enjoy a virtual piano concert.
Hettie grew up just outside Dunmow with her parents and younger brother Ernest.
Home manager Lydia Halliday said: “The local community has really come together over the last year, so we’re hoping that same spirit can get 102 cards to Hettie for her birthday.
“A show of community support like this would boost everyone’s spirits in the home.”
Hettie enjoys spending time with her fellow residents, especially sipping a glass of sherry with friend Irene. Most recently she joined the bowls team.
Anyone wishing to send Hettie a card can post one to Hettie Wilson at Croft House Bupa Care Home, Braintree Road, Great Dunmow, Essex, CM6 1HR.
