FIRE crews came to the rescue of a woman who fell into a slurry pit on a farm in the Bradford district.

The crews were called to a farm in Silsden yesterday in what proved to be a muddy job for them.

An ambulance was also called to the scene yesterday.

A slurry pit is a hole or dam where farmers collect their animal waste together with other matter such as hay, to convert it into fertilizer.
