A FOOTBALL team has been handed a boost after securing a new kit
Witham Town Youth Football Club’s blue players approached Eastlight Community Homes earlier this year to help them raise cash for a new home shirt and tracksuits.
The housing association's residents group were more than happy to come forward with the cash.
Eastlight sets aside money every year to help community projects and groups.
Residents group member Sean Collyer said: "It was our pleasure to provide the money to the team.
"It’s never been more vital that community projects are supported, as they make such a difference to people’s wellbeing. We wish this team all the best in climbing even higher up the league table this season."
Ed Booker, sponsorship coordinator for Witham Town, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Eastlight for sponsoring our kit.
"Our club has around 300 local children involved on a weekly basis, so it’s fitting that the team is supported by an organisation that’s such an integral part of the community.
"On top of that, they look brilliant."
Other groups and projects supported by Eastlight's residents group this year include Felsted Rovers FC, a drug awareness initiative at Ramsey Academy in Halstead and outdoor learning equipment at schools in Cressing and Braintree.
