A YEAR group at a Flintshire high school are self-isolating after a student tested positive for coronavirus.
Hawarden High School has confirmed that following a Year 10 student having tested positive, the Year 10 group is now self-isolating.
The urgent letter was issued to parents of Year 10 students on Monday morning, and the school states that "only a very few" students in the affected year group turned up to school and were "immediately separated from the rest" of the school's students before they were sent home.
Students are expected to return to school on Monday, October 19 - a decision based on when the affected student was last in school and the possibility that other sutdents could still be symptomatic.
The school remains open for all other students.
Hawarden High School becomes the latest in a number of schools in Flintshire and Wrexham to register positive coronavirus.
