Dorset's best things to do in groups of six

As coronavirus rules become tighter we are now limited to meeting in groups of six or less.

The new law came into force on Monday, September 4, which means that meeting in groups of larger than six, with some exceptions, is now illegal. 

Amid a rise in coronavirus cases the law change bans groups of more than six from meeting inside or outdoors. 

The law is being enforced through a £100 fine which doubles on each offence to a maximum of £3,200. 

We’ve compiled a list of the best things to do with up to six people in Dorset: 

Get a hole in one on the mini golf course

Take the whole family or grabs some friends and try your hand at getting a hole in one. 

Mini-golf is a great pastime and bound to make you and your group have a giggle. 

Sealife pirate adventure mini golf is priced at £6.95 for an adult and £5.95 for a child. 

They advise you to book two consecutive slots if you attend in a group of six - you will still play together. 

The mini golf course is open daily from 10am to 4pm on the weekdays and 10am to 4.45 on weekends. 

Relax and enjoy some crafty pottery painting 

Although many pottery painting cafes are not taking in-store bookings many like, Bella Ceramics in Weymouth have kits you can enjoy at home. 

From the comfort of your home or garden you can paint a variety of ceramics from ornaments to mugs and plates to money boxes. 

The starter painting kit costs £10 and the ceramics start at just £6 each.

Have a go at a game of rounders

Visit Escape Dungeons

Located at The Three Chimneys on The Esplanade, the Escape Dungeons is a thrilling afternoon out for you and five friends. 

There are three themed rooms - Alice in Wonderland, Prison Break and a bomb diffusing lab. 

The escape room costs £20 per person and is open from 10am to 9.30pm. 

Try stand up paddle boarding

Something to really put your balance to the test, stand up paddle boarding is a gentle sport that allows you to take time out with your loved ones. 

As long as the water is calm paddle boarding is a gentle activity that is growing in poularity. 

A great way to take in the beautiful sites of Portland there are various outlets to visit for paddle board hire. 

Weymouth Watersports at Ferrybridge Boat Yard is open from 9am to 7pm daily and charge £15 per hour.
