A PROLIFIC bike thief's offending has been so relentless that judges have forbidden him from sitting on bicycles in Brighton and Hove.
Christopher Hussey will also not be able to ride or handle cycles in the city for two years after a series of thefts.
Since May last year he has been convicted of 12 offences, with most of these being theft-related.
Four of these crimes involved him stealing bikes, prompting a judge to issue this unusual Criminal Behaviour Order.
He is banned from sitting astride, handling or being in any other way in possession of a pedal cycle, both manual and electric within the city of Brighton and Hove.
Hussey has also been ordered to carry out voluntary work and training.
PC Kevin Michnowicz said: "The order is the result of hard work from the local prevention team to try and tackle Hussey's stealing and criminal behaviour, which impacts on the local community and businesses and is completely unacceptable.
"If Hussey breaches the order than he is liable to be sent to prison."
