NURSERIES in Braintree are welcoming the community back for the first time since the lockdown.

The Busy Bees' centres at Galleys Corner and in Great Notley are hosting open days now that restrictions have been relaxed.

Parents are being asked to book appointments to ensure social distancing is maintained at all times and other safety measures have been introduced to keep staff and visitors safe.

Lisa Webb, director at the Galleys Corner centre, said: "The last few months have really shown the importance of friendship and community spirit, and we are thrilled to be bringing people together once again as we emerge from these very challenging times.

"With our first open day in months, we’re excited to celebrate the community spirit of our area and welcome back some familiar faces, while showcasing all the wonderful things we’ve been up to here.

"We remain committed to providing the best start in life for children, no matter the circumstances, so it has been fantastic to show parents what a day at our nursery looks like now."

An open day is taking place at the Galley Corner Centre this Wednesday at 6pm and another at the Great Notley centre between 7pm and 8.30pm next Thursday (August 20).
