A WOMAN suffered neck injuries after being attacked with a knife.

Police say a 53-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers were called to reports a woman was assaulted with a knife outside the Co-op in White Street, Dunmow, around 10.20am today (Thursday, August 8).

They say her injury is not life-threatening.

The woman arrested after the incident remains in custody.

A police spokesman added: "We are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or has CCTV, dash cam, or video footage of the incident to come forward.
