BARNET insist they remain in discussons with boss Darren Currie.

The 45-year-old remains the bookmakers' favourite to be the next Southend United manager and is believed to be keen on making the switch to Blues.

But a statement on Barnet's official website confirmed the National League side are still in talks with Currie who led Bees into the play-offs this term.

The statement read: "As you will be aware from previous statements, head coach Darren Currie and first team coach Junior Lewis have contracts that expire in September 2020.

"Discussions regarding budgets, recruitment and plans for their position are ongoing.

"We hope to be able to bring more clarity on the situation very soon."
