SOUTHEND United have agreed terms on a new contract with experienced defender John White.
White, who turned 34 on Sunday, has been with Blues on a permanent basis since 2013.
And Shrimpers chairman Ron Martin is confident White will be remaining at Roots Hall.
“We’ve agreed terms with John and his agent,” said Martin.
“John should be putting pen to paper soon.”
White has made 241 appearances for the Shrimpers and skippered the side for the 2015 League Two play-off final against Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley.
Martin also confirmed he was making 'good progress' on contract talks with winger Sam Barratt.
