LUIS Boa Morte is interested in becoming Southend United’s next manager, Echosport understands.
The 42-year-old was assistant manager at Everton at the start of the season, working alongside Marco Silva at Goodison Park.
But he left the Toffees in December when Silva was also relieved of his duties.
Boa Morte had previously also been assistant at Israeli Premier League side Maccabi Haifa and coached at Portuguese sides Portimonense, Sintrense and Sporting CP where he worked with the under 19s.
As a player, Boa Morte lined up in the Premier League for West Ham, Fulham, Southampton and Arsenal.
