Fresh start - Joe Shaughnessy has joined St.Mirren after leaving Southend United
FORMER Southend United defender Joe Shaughnessy has signed for Scottish Premier League side St.Mirren.
The 28-year-old centre-back saw his request to leave the Shrimpers accepted at the start of the July.
And Shaughnessy is now pleased to have returned to Scotland where he previously played for Aberdeen, Forfar, Falkirk and St. Johnstone.
"The manager really sold the club to me,” Shaughnessy told the club’s official website.
“His ambition came across really well any time I spoke to him and it made me feel like there is something starting here.
"I want to be a part of it."
Shaughnessy made 21 appearances for Blues who he joined before the start of last season.
