THUNDERSTORMS and heavy rain is expected to batter Hampshire as yellow weather warning put in place across the south.
The Met Office has issued the weather warning today across the South of England for thunderstorms until midnight tonight.
Residents can expect heavy rain and thundery showers which could lead to disruption caused by flooding.
The warning states that there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
Earlier today, a funnel shape was spotted spinning in the sky in Hamble as thunderstorms raged over Hampshire.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said there is no proof it is definitely a tornado, but did not deny the possibility.
