Morrisons will now offer additional help for farmers across the country.
The supermarket have a 5 per cent discount to thank them for feeding the nation and are introducing new meat and seafood stations in stores.
Morrisons are one of many stores to offer customers plenty more products during the pandemic.
New wider selections of steaks, joints and seafood will be offered in stores from today with a summer ‘BBQ and Steak Bar’ as well a ‘BBQ and Seafood Bar’ to encourage sales Meat and fish producers have been unable to sell certain products - including high quality steaks, joints, whole fish and shellfish - that might have been destined for the restaurant trade.
The 5 per cent discount will be offered to Morrisons’ 2,700 farmers when they buy their own groceries to support them and their families and will run until mid-July when it will then be reviewed.
Eligible farmers include livestock suppliers supplying lamb, beef and pork into Morrisons; egg farmers supplying Morrisons directly; dairy farmers with a Morrisons contract and fruit & veg growers supplying Morrisons directly.
