A NINE-YEAR-OLD has written a poem to urge everyone to stay indoors amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Kaiya Avery-Carter, who is a charity ambassador for Inspire Dorset, had written the coronavirus-led poem to also emphasise the effort made by key workers and NHS staff.

Kaiya and her sister, Carlie, have been involved with the charity since it launched last summer.

As Inspire Dorset's routine groups and services had been cancelled following the coronavirus outbreak, the charity is instead supporting the community through collecting and delivering prescriptions and shopping, calling vulnerable people, dog walking and assisting other charities including food banks.

“It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

This is a disaster

It’s spreading faster

It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

There's people dying

There's people panic buying

It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

It all started in China

It even spread to South Carolina

It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

It’s called corona

It’s even in the island of Mona

It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

Everyone’s in self isolation or lockdown

Even clowns, people with crowns and everyone in the town

It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

Army is on its way

We’re just waiting for that day

It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

Stay indoors to save lives

I know you’ve got to put up with your wives

It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

Stay indoors

So we don’t have to involve the corps

It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

Thank you NHS for saving us

And you don’t do it with a fuss

It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

You can be a hero

If you reduce your contact to zero

It’s a global pandemic

It affects the whole systemic

Please stay indoors to save lives

So everyone survives

Thank you for helping us in this hard time."
