NEW data has revealed the most expansive streets in our district.

Beacon Hill, Maypole Road and Witham Road - which are all in Wickham Bishops - are the most expensive areas to live according to housing expert, Property Solvers.

The firm made the finding after researching house prices in the area in the past five years.

Beacon Hill came out on top, with the average house selling in the road for £941,665.

The cheapest streets were all in Braintree, with New Street having an average house price of £78,900.

Penn Mews was the second cheapest with an average of £97,166, and Falkland Court third with £113,107.

Property Solvers says it only used data from roads where there had been at least three houses sold since 2015.

Commenting on the data, Property Solvers said: “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had over three sales.

"It’s therefore worth noting a 3-bed detached property on Sampford Road in Cornish Hall End sold for £2.35 million in August 2015. Another detached property on Maypole Road in Wickham Bishops sold for £2.1 million in November 2015. There were also a number of other sales over the £1 million mark.

"At the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £101,000 and under on Great Square, Howard Close and Godric Place (all in Braintree)."
