BRAINTREE'S MP met with commuters to discuss their concerns about the branch line.

James Cleverly has vowed to press Greater Anglia for improvements after meeting with passengers on Friday morning.

In a video posted on Facebook, he said: "I've been chatting with commuters about the service, about reliability problems and the main thing for them which is a big frustration is that when things go wrong, they don't fell they are getting accurate or timely communications from Greater Anglia.

"This is something I have brought up with the train company regularly. It's still a challenge so I will go to them again."

After similar concerns were raised in January, Greater Anglia said it was taking steps to address its "day-to-day performance".

A spokesman added: "When there is a problem with the service, we proactively update passengers via social media, our website and our station-based teams.

"We will keep working to ensure that the information provision is as precise and consistent as possible."
