THE Times’ report on district council Leader Graham Butland’s proposed “£43million spending spree” (February 6) must have pleased the residents of Braintree town.
However, residents of other areas my be less delighted.
Council receipts should, in fairness, be distributed equally for the benefit of all areas, but in the report the only item mentioned for Witham is improvement to a play area.
This seems like small beer compared with the lavish improvements in Braintree.
I wonder if Braintree Council might like to issue detailed figures for expenditure in each area.
